When my fashion studies led me to choose a historical fashion icon, I’m not sure why, but my mind almost immediately went to Cleopatra. In studying about her, I was shocked to learn the “Egyptian goddess” wasn’t even Egyptian… she was Greek! But that was the least of her manipulations. Many times, she used her beauty and charm, her female prowess, to get her way.

The stories are not worth mentioning, but they bring up a thought. What or who is your Cleopatra — that thing trying to sway you from what you know is right? Ask God to show you the way out of that temptation. Let’s not entertain or give way to any kind of manipulation, but cling to the truth in everything we say and do.
